Architecture & Design Portfolio
2024 — 2026
My name is Jonkarlos Torres, and I am currently a third-year Architecture student at the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. I am passionate about architecture, interior design, and spatial development, constantly seeking opportunities to grow both creatively and professionally.
Through design, my goal is to create thoughtful and refined spaces while contributing innovative ideas, a strong work ethic, and meticulous attention to detail in every project. I am committed to developing solutions that balance functionality, identity, and design, creating meaningful and high-quality spatial experiences.
Our proposal maximizes the use of space for the public while creating a welcoming atmosphere enhanced by natural sunlight. The clear and well-defined division of spaces reinforces the project's concept, allowing for better organization and an improved user experience. This layout not only organizes functions efficiently but also enhances lighting and comfort, resulting in a coherent and functional architectural proposal for the building. In addition, the use of durable materials and the visible texture on the party wall strengthen the design identity, creating a clear transition point and a visual connection between spaces that enhances the overall architectural experience of the building.
The project incorporates wellness spaces such as a matcha bar, a yoga area, and a gym, which function as extensions of the co-living concept. These spaces not only promote healthy lifestyles but also strengthen social interaction and a sense of community. Designed under passive principles, with natural ventilation, controlled lighting, and locally sourced materials, these programs complement the sustainable proposal by reducing energy consumption and encouraging the shared use of resources. Overall, these elements transform the project into an integrated living system, where dwelling, socializing, and well-being occur in a seamless and interconnected manner.
